A relaxed Bike & Hike into the serene coastal landscape of southern Paros, riding right by the water, to explore magnificent seascapes and some of the finest sandy beaches on the island! Return on dirt roads & country lanes through the farming land of Kambi!
Description
We meet and set forth at Aliki central beach, riding right by the water. We head west passing by Aliki waterfront and the beach of St. Nicholas, to find ourselves on dirt tracks in the countryside that take us to the southwestern coast.
We keep moving along the coastline enjoying a shifting perspective that follows the curve of the Paros-Antiparos channel going by the string of beaches and coves of Makria Myti. After a short stretch of bike pushing on sand, we are back on track and soon reach the scenic, golden-sanded beach of Voutakos, where we pause to explore the length of the beach at its full-length and maybe enjoy a refreshing dip.
Up next, we briefly cycle on quiet asphalt roads and inland country lanes, to return to the coastline catching glimpses of the rolling hills of Antiparos island ahead. We go past rows of sea pines framing perfect seascapes (especially when lit by sunset colors) to reach the long, sandy stretch of Pounta beach and enjoy the sight of multi-colored kite-surfing sails in the sky as we ride on.
The port of Pounta marks the point of our return through the quiet country lanes of the agricultural valley of Kambi. We are now heading N-NE, taking in view of the Paros interior and the mountains up ahead. Once back on the secondary asphalt road, it only an short rolling ride back to Aliki village (making it appropriate for night riding).
